Upholstery Beginners Open Class

Do you have a piece of furniture at home that needs some love? Do you want to have a go at doing it yourself?

Join us in the studio and learn how to reupholster your old piece of furniture so it looks like new! 

In the Beginners Open Class you'll learn a whole heap of upholstery skills, you'll have access to professional upholstery tools and equipment and you'll have heaps of fun! At the end of the course you'll have a beautiful, one-of-a-kind, upholstered-by-you piece of furniture to take home. During this two-day class you'll gain heaps of knowledge and the skills to be able complete your next project - because we're 100% sure once you do a class with us you'll catch the upholstery bug!

The course fee includes two tutors - an excellent teacher to student ratio - use of the equipment, tools and basic supplies. An extra fee applies to any additional supplies your particular project may require - maybe your chair has a broken spring or needs new foam? Maybe it needs new buttons? This fee will be charged on a project-by-project basis and will be discussed with you as the need arises.  

All you need to do before you come to the class is email a photo of your piece, so we can check it's appropriate for the course (we cant do your sofa sorry) and choose your own fabulous upholstery fabric!

You can source your own fabric or order fabric from us - at a 10% discount for workshop students! Check out our fabric page for ideas.

If you do order through us, please allow at least two weeks for your fabric to arrive in time for the workshop.  Indent fabrics up to 6 weeks.

Coffee and biscuits are provided and we'll have a break each day for lunch. Please bring something to eat and some water - you've got to keep your energy up and stay hydrated!

WHEN: Saturday & Sunday, 9.30am - 4pm (includes a 1/2 hour break).

NOTE: A minimum of 2 students are required for this class to go ahead. 

Workshop cancellations must be made at least three weeks before your booked workshop date in order to be eligible for a refund. Cancellations after the three week cut-off may be eligible for a refund at the discretion of Bec's Shed.
